To be fair, I’m a sucker for a good fake relationship story (bonus points for “pining for sibling’s best friend for forever“), and Sophie and Connor sure did not disappoint! I’ll admit I had a soft spot for Sophie ever since she proved to be such an awesome friend to Kyla, and I just knew there had to be more to Connor than the ladies' man facade he so successfully hid behind. Sophie was a strong, resourceful shero I could root for from the get-go, and I loved how she and Connor - mostly :) - brought out the best in each other. The rest of the wonderfully messy and meddling found family around Ardinmuir and Lochmara occasionally tried to steal the show, but that’s par for the course for a Kait Nolan book, I think. More, please?

Like I’ve come to expect from books by Mary Frame, Another Fox Bites the Dust manages to find the perfect balance between dealing with serious issues, a slow-burn romance, and plenty of sweet and funny moments.

The characters are far from perfect, and they manage to mess things up spectacularly before they find their HEA. I loved getting to know Mindy and Luke (and their families) and I enjoyed seeing them fall in like and - inevitably - in love.(Luke is a truly a cinnamon roll of a hero, and I especially loved his interactions with Mindy’s brother Jake.

This book can be read as a standalone, yet there is a lot of backstory as well as an overarching storyline, so it’s probably best to read this series in order.

This cute novella made me want to read more about the folks of Rixburg, WV. Lizzy and Teddy / Theo were such an adorable match, and I enjoyed seeing them get back together.

A cozy mystery with a cast of quirky characters and oodles of found family? Yes, please!

Not my first book by this author, but the first in this series I've read - and it definitely makes me want to read more!

I loved getting the perspective of the match-making mamas as well as the POVs of both Addie and Brogan.

Disclaimer: I might be biased, because I have thoroughly enjoyed the first two Misfit books (and the companion rom-com series Haven Hallways), and Alexia Loves Troy is a wonderful addition to the series.

It was fun to see prickly “Shawty” Alexia’s usual MO to keep everyone at arm’s length totally fail in the face of sunshiney, all-around-good-guy Troy, and it was great to see these two apparent opposites discover enough common ground to become friends - and more.

Written with Jordan Ford’s trademark mix of realistic, flawed characters, swoony romance, a healthy dose of humor, and a delicate balance with the underlying heavier issues, this story fits in perfectly with the previous books in the series.

This book was written for me!

Isadora is such a relatable nerdy mess, and her story is giving me all the feels! It made me smile, the romance made me swoon, there were some laugh-out-loud moments, and it tugged on the heartstrings big time. Overall, while some aspects might have hit a little close to home, I loved the strong theme of making connections and I adored this particular found family Isadora managed to pick up along her way.

Fun and engaging story by a new-to-me author. I have the next book in the series already ready to go on my e-reader, so there... :)

More Wishful AND more Eden’s Ridge? Yes, please!

I’m a sucker for a good second-chance romance, and this novella feels like a comforting, warm hug with its small-town vibes and strong sense of (found) family, love, and forgiveness (it is a second-chance story, after all). And while I didn’t get quite as emotionally attached as I might have to some of Kait’s other characters, I truly enjoyed getting to know Declan and Livia - and, last but not least, Scarlett.

It’s always a treat for me to visit Eden’s Ridge or Wishful, and I really enjoyed this crossover with many old acquaintances from both worlds making an appearance (as always, Ari FTW!). Though I suppose it can be a bit overwhelming if one hasn’t read (m)any of the other books before.

Friends to more, you say? Count me in! Although Elijah and Noelle managed to dial the awkward up to 11 - which was, to be honest, at times quite painful to watch. (Plus, I didn’t like that poor Dominic got caught up in Noelle and Elijah’s mess.)

Then again, I truly appreciated how Elijah still had Noelle’s back despite her trying to keep him at arm’s length.

Lola FTW!

Disclaimer: I'm usually not a big fan of anything fae. BUT! Lola! She is such a wonderful new protagonist, and she made it so easy to root for her. I loved getting to know her and her slice of the DFZ world and her group of friends and possible allies.

If "By a Silver Thread" is anything to go by (and, knowing Rachel Aaron's books, I'm pretty sure it is!), this series is going to be an excellent addition to the DFZ story universe, and I can't wait for the next book!

(And while it's not mandatory to have read any of the previous DFZ series, there are plenty of little nods to the other books as an extra little bonus for the long-time readers.)

My heart was breaking for April and her family, and it made me happy that she found such a great friend in Sadie - and, of course, such a great boyfriend in Diego. :)
(Bonus points for normalizing alternative paths after graduation and showing that it's not necessarily the right path for everyone to go directly from high school to college.)

Fun! I really enjoy the stories about this group of friends, and it was great to get to know Demi better. To be honest, I've been rooting for her to get rid of Justin for the past couple of books, so I was more than happy to see her finally stand up for herself and find out what she really wants out of life.
