The plot thickens!

The plotlines seem to come together finally, and it becomes clearer what the story is all about.

It's interesting how most of the main characters are very ambiguous and have several issues. For me that makes them more believable, although the moral implications are sometimes really tough.

A par force expedition across half a continent and several loosely coupled storylines

Good writing, about a thoroughly decadent society and extremely ambiguous characters set in it with a sprinkle of religion and history added. It's completely unclear where the story is going after having read the first book, so I'm curious how it culminates and ends up.

Interesting read as it's still not clear where the story really is going. Having said that, it's a gritty and dirty story and no one seems to be entirely likable with the exception of Logen and his band of Named Men (and even those seem to be a bit on the rough side).

Very Unusual

I wild mixture of Science Fiction and Fantasy, Gideon the Ninth introduces (seeming) Magic into SciFi and an intriguing Society with wondrous, gothic scenarios. It makes a good setting for the following books and I'm quite intrigued how the plot will go on.
