One of my favorites in the Vorkosigan Saga!

I love this series more with every book!

I've been looking forward to reading Bella's story ever since I met her for the first time - and she's one strong leading lady! <3 To be honest, I did not expect Rafe to complement her so perfectly. Really, these two... sa-woon
Lianne turned out to be a wonderful surprise, and I can't wait to read her story!

Here I thought that Intermediate Thermondynamics would always be my favorite in the series (because, well, Esther...), but Penny and Caleb are giving Esther and Jonathan a run for their money in that regard.
Following Penny on her journey from "good girl" to "fun Penny" made me smile a lot (and occasionally laugh out loud).
Caleb is one of the good guys, though I'll admit I got a bit frustrated at times with his "on" and "off" switch. I think a dual POV might have helped me understand him a bit better.

Bonus points for the supporting characters: especially George, who helped put certain things in perspective, but also Penny's knitting group (old friends from the previous books), and her BFF Olivia who always had Penny's back.

This one is really difficult for me to rate, so I'm taking the easy way out and just don't.

I was surprised by how much I liked Noah (who was kind of a jerk in the first book in the series), and I'll always have a soft spot for geeky heroines like Lexi.
Noah's story broke my heart, and I don't understand how he couldn't even talk to his best friend about what was happening in his life.
I also struggled with the overprotective-dad part of the plot. While I get where that was coming from, the way the topic of teenage sex / teenage pregnancy / abstinence was handled was frankly alien to me.

I loved everything about this book - except the last few chapters.
(I think Josh and Hazel would have arrived at that epilogue just fine without that last bit of drama, but that's just me.)
Fantastic characters and great family dynamics (I'm a sucker for those...), lovely writing, equally hilarious, heart-wrenching, and sexy.

The first book I've read by this duo, but definitely not the last.

Fun start to a new sci-fi series - can't wait to read more about Mops and her motley janitorial crew!
(Though, I suppose, Grom is my favorite. Okay, one of them...)

Solid first-in-series for this Heartstrikers spin-off with more magic and cyberpunk and less dragon drama (at times, the story had a decidedly Shadowrun-y feel).

Opal and Nik make a good team, solving the mystery around a mage's death, while both racing against the clock and on the run from hired thugs. It was especially great to see the Spirit of the Forgotten Dead play a small but important part in this story.

Another bonus point for Nik's old-fashioned sports car (not only completely autopilot-free, but also a stick shift, to boot) and Opal's initial... ahem... skepticism towards it. :)

Like the Heartstriker series before it, this series will be likely be a no-questions-asked-shut-up-and-take-my-money autobuy for me.
