My favorite part was the whole lot of family and friends (and Hope! :) ) that gave both Avery and Knox the occasional reality check plus all the banter!

Wait, what?

There is a lot happening in this new adventure, but I truly did not expect some of the storylines that had been building over the previous books to get resolved - just like that?

That doesn’t mean that Evan and Anya’s adventure is over- far from it! Next, please?

I wish I could have liked the story as much as I wanted to. But I couldn't warm up to either Stella or Oliver (I liked the rest of the bandmates better), and some of the scenes were just... fluff and felt unnecessary and didn't make any sense to me.
I'm sad that the sotry didn't get more editorial TLC.

The adventure continues and new challenges abound!

Now that an ancient alien starship has whisked them away, Evan and Anya are facing plenty new challenges as they are searching for allies and trying to untangle the secret plot(s) they find themselves caught up in.

I found this second installment just as engrossing and entertaining as the first. A.K. DuBoff has truly created an intriguing world I thoroughly enjoy getting lost in (as a reader, at least - I imagine Evan and Anya feel differently about their ordeal…).

Kept me up way past my bedtime!

I found Reliance to be an intriguing protagonist, and the fast-paced story kept me turning the pages (hence the aforementioned loss of sleep...). I thoroughly enjoyed delving into this new-to-me world and getting to know Reliance's enemies and allies alike - not least of all Felix, her ship's feline avatar - but I'll have to admit that Walnut took my by surprise and stole a piece of my heart in record time.

Space western* with strong buddy movie vibes - totally my jam!

This first-in-series was a fun introduction to John and his artie-partner-in-crime Alvis, whose bickering game is as strong as their do-gooder tendencies. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these two and the rest of the engaging cast of characters Tom Dell'Aringa brought to life in this entertaining adventure.

Cute YA romance, but the movie references were a bit much (and maybe outdated?).

Well, that escalated quickly!

I’m a sucker for a story with a reluctant (s)hero, and Fanny’s inner voice coaxing her into doing all the right things from standing up against bullies to eventually fighting crime (I did say things escalated quickly, didn’t I?) totally fits the bill.

My favorite part of this fast-paced, entertaining adventure was getting to know Fanny and her family and friends, who all brought not only excellent banter to the table but their own, individual skills and strenghts.

While I found some aspects a bit over the top (must be nice to have all these resources to throw at the problem at hand), I enjoyed the family (and found-family) dynamics. And Buddy did a stellar job stealing his way into Fanny’s heart (and mine).

My heart is full! <3

I thought “Just Act Natural” might be a hard act to follow, but Genny Carrick hit it out of the park - again. I absolutely adored Tess and Ian - and August, OMG! so precious! - and it was such a joy to see them grow close, albeit reluctantly. Both had their reasons why they didn’t want to open themselves up to potential heartbreak, yet seeing Tess’s teenage crush rekindled was a lot of fun.
It was also great to reconnect with so many folks I’ve already met in other stories, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series! Pretty please, with a dinosaur footprint on top!

Great start to a new series!

The blurb drew me in, promising an adventure right up my sci-fi/space opearatic reading alley, and it sure didn’t disappoint! The author paints a vivid picture of this alien world and the ever-evolving SNAFU Evan, Anya, and the others find themselves in and keeps the story moving at a brisk pace. My only “complaint” - if you can call it that - is that the other books in the series haven’t been published yet. More, please? :)
