Le sigh. Le swoon! We're back in Crowder, Texas, and once again, Susannah Nix delivers an emotional roller coaster of a romance that runs the gamut from cute and funny (and sexy!) to heartbreaking.
Maggie and Ryan are both interesting, complex, and - usually ;) - mature characters, and I thoroughly enjoyed their banter and the fake-dating-turning-into-the-real-thing storyline. I loved getting to see them slowly lower their defenses and let each other in - until they (cough Ryan cough) didn't. But I really appreciated Maggie's approach to getting Ryan out of his self-imposed isolation and I loved how everything worked out at the end.

Oh, my heart! I don't even know where to begin... This story gave me ALL THE FEELS - I've been rooting for Rachel and Jonah even before this book started, and boy, did they mess it up before they finally got it right... But it was so worth it in the end!

It was wonderful to be back in Eden's Ridge and catch up with the rest of the Bad Boy Bakers and their families, too. I'm looking forward to reading more stories set in this world!

This was a fun and fast-paced - and slightly convoluted, maybe? - finale to the Space Janitor series. Overall, I had a lot of fun with these characters, although I'll admit that I can absolutely relate to Ty and Vanti's occasional frustration with their charge. (I mean, why can't Triana do just ONCE what the people whose literal job it is to keep her safe tell her to? How are they supposed to do their jobs properly when they get undermined at every turn?)

The swoon is dialed up to 11!

I didn't think it was possible, but this series just keeps getting better. I fell head over heels in love with both Cayla and Holt, and "Bumblebee" Maddie truly melted my heart. I loved seeing this little family-of-convenience grow ever closer, and I appreciate the way they tackled their problems - both the very real external threat courtesy of Cayla's dastartdly ex as well as their internal hang-ups.

Highly recommended!

Excellent small-town romantic suspense with all the feels!

This wonderful second-chance romance is an excellent start to the new series. (If you don't count the prequel novella - which, by the way, I highly recommend because it gives a lot more background info on Mia and Brax; plus, it's free!)

Once more, Kait Nolan puts her characters - and her readers! - through the emotional wringer. The story is a well-balanced mix of small-town romance and suspense, and it's always a bonus when we get to reconnect with familiar faces in Eden's Ridge and some of the Misfit Inn gang.

I absolutely adored Mia and Brax, and I can't wait to read more about Brax's fellow "Bad Boy Bakers" and their worthy sheroes.

PSA: Not all plot lines get resolved neatly, I expect these to continue over the next two books.

I'm sad that I ended up not liking this book as much as I wanted to (and as I had in the beginning).

Up to about two thirds of the book, I would have given it at least 4 stars. I enjoyed getting to know the quirky characters, had fun with the road-trippy hijinks, and rooted for Chloe to get over her ingrained belief of what a "soul mate" needed to be.
And it was all there. And it was wonderful.
Until it wasn't.

Is it irrational to be disappointed in fictional characters? Yes, of course it is.: D But Chloe's stubbornnes in this regard really made me want to shake some sense into that narrow-minded head of hers.

THE FEELS! ALL OF THEM!

I am in love with Jeannie Lin's writing. Her description of Song Yi and Li Chen's relationship is just... chef's kiss. While there is a lot of reservation and reluctance on both sides, there is also so much tenderness, and it's just so friggin beautiful and heart-melting. <3

Plus, Li Chen can be such a nerd, and I am a sucker for a nerdy romance hero.

On another side note: I loved to see Gao occasionally stealing the show with his uber-cool, deadpan demeanor. And Wei-wei will always have a special place in my heart.

Cute YA romance with some LOL moments.

This is a fun start to the series! Julia Huni's vivid storytelling really brings the characters to life and makes it feel as if I were watching a movie.
Looking forward to reading more about Triana's adventures! :)

Cinnamon-roll book nerd hero, you say? Yes, please!

It was ridiculously easy to fall in love with Tanner, and although I found Lucy at times a bit frustrating, I was rooting for her to finally (!) realize that she and Tanner were just perfect for each other.
I just love Susannah Nix's writing, how she brings her characters to life, and how she manages to balance tougher topics with her special blend of humor and heart (and nerdiness - this time, she had me at "poisoned Nazgûl blade." :D)

Highly recommended for fans of small-town, second-chance romances with a healthy dollop of meddling friends and family.
