An Incredible Analysis of When Markets and Morals Collide

This is an incredible review of different classes of markets with different, and differently changing, levels of moral repugnance and how to think about and manage their effects. Roth does a good job threading the needle of being as neutral as possible when breaking down these markets while definitively laying down his viewpoint and diagnosis at the end of each chapter. Overall he clearly demonstrates how morals and markets are inextricably linked, and how important it is to articulate and test the basis for our moral objections. Beyond the fascinating insight you'll get into markets around intimacy, finance, and health, there are some unforgettable case studies here - particularly the accidental legalization of prostitution in Rhode Island from 2003-2009. Highly recommend
