I shall preface this with the fact that I saw an ad for this book pitched for fans of Baby Reindeer. I used a free Audible credit as part of the offer, so I'm not out of pocket.
The author Tanya Sweeny conveyed the unhinged behaviour of fans in the modern age, reasonably well. I tend to stay away from fandom circles precisely because of this behaviour, the nastiness, the entitlement, and the complete lack of self control in some of the more hardcore circles.
It is amusing in parts with some of the things Esther says.
Unfortunately, the surrounding parts of the book fell a bit flat for me. It's comparable with Baby Reindeer in the sense that it features fan stalkers, but it didn't come close to being as gripping, and yes I'm aware Baby Reindeer was based on a true story. This is a work of fiction.
It also highlights the results of unresolved childhood trauma, and I would probably say this is an example of someone with Borderline Personality Disorder and ADHD, so if you have either of those conditions, be mindful.
I found the ending to be quite anticlimatic, for someone who caused so much pain and damage to multiple people, Esther gets off quite lightly, in my opinion.
