Ben Waber hat American Made von Kim Kelly besprochen
A Singular Collected Volume
4 Sterne
This is an amazing, singular collected volume of interviews with various workers during the Great Depression, including with a pre-famous Ralph Ellison (!), and there's a great forward by Kim Kelly to situate these primary sources. The standouts for me were the entries on ironworking and the rubber industry, with working conditions that can best be described as hellish. As always with volumes like this, it's hard to know how representative these interviews are, and understanding the macro perspective is left to the reader. But even if you don't have a strong grounding in the general history and labor history of the time, you'll get a lot out of these detailed, moving, personal interviews. Highly recommend
