There's far more on Hominids here than I expected, so if you're mainly interested in dogs you might find those sections distracting, however they're incredibly insightful and provide crucial depth on the societies where humans didn't initially bring dogs - particularly Australia. You'll leave with a profound appreciation for how unique and vital the dog/human bond is and how deeply it has been built into our biology and dispersion across the globe. Highly recommend
