Alex reviewed Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir (The Locked Tomb, #1)
Dark and messy
5 stars
I loved it, merging dark fantasy magic, with a sci-fi setting, and telling a horror story. It was a great page turner for me.

Tamsyn Muir's Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cutthroat politics, and lesbian necromancers. Her characters leap off the page, as skillfully animated as necromantic skeletons. The result is a heart-pounding epic science fantasy.

Just incredible. Pretty rare to find such and imaginative and rich world built into such a compelling narrative that is SO FUN. It's funny, heartbreaking, action-packed, mesmerizing, and thoughtful all at once. Can't wait to read the rest.
